H1F Carb Needle Needed Please.

Postby David Riley » Sun May 11, 2014 11:23 pm

Hello.

Anyone got a good carb jet needle(5DJ19) they are willing to sell me for my H1F.
I recently fitted a carb rebuild kit but the needles that came with the kit appear to have given it a horrid flatspot.
So want to try putting the original needles back in but one is knackered.

Cash waiting.

Regards
Dave.

you should Know better , most of these rebuild kits contain inferior fuel metering components , go and speak to Steve Doran at www.motocarb.co.uk , he may have some of these needles

I have a carb I bought for the float bowl but will have to get bigger magnifying glass to read the number.
It's from a 500 so will try agin to read it tonight.

Here's a quick update.
Bin meaning to do it for weeks - sorry.
Anyway got a good carb needle from Fieldsheer (thanks again). Took out the crap aftermarket needles put originals back in = it ran even worse so tried every setting under the bloody sun including check ignition timing no joy flat spots, surging and just plain grumpy. So back to drawing board contacted Steve Doran at Motocarb and he supplied me with some alternative Mikuni carb needles (5DI20's). Then set carbs up as manual states. Hey presto its now a happy H1 never run as well, virtually no flatspots, surging with the plugs a lovely chocolate brown colour.

Thanks for everyones help.

Pleased to hear you have a solution.
I have a set of Ivans jets on order but so far no sign of them, but as both 500 engines are going nowhere soon its not a problem.
Good to know there is an alternative if they don't show up.

Cheers
